Haven’t you been in Europe during end October? Are you in Copenhagen during this time? If the answer “Yes”, then you must visit Tivoli garden in Copenhagen on 31st October or atleast around this time.
I visited Tivoli before the day I leave Copenhagen after my half year stay.
Halloween or Allhalloween is celebrated in many countries on 31st October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day dedicated to remembering the dead.
Trick-or-treating, attending #Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, lighting bonfires, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror films and many more.
Now #Tivoli opens it’s gate during mid-October with it’s all kind of amusements and activities for Halloween. Second oldest amusement operating park in the world Tivoli has it’s own charm. It still has some old school amusement rides which will add to this Halloween ambience.
Above picture is a cozy cafe in the park. The whole park is decorated with thousands of pumpkins which lit up evening onward. You will really love some of the acts of theater staged on open platform. Though in Danish but you can get shows in English also. Shops around the corners sell Halloween stuffs.
There are many rides which you can buy from the entrance ticket counter or from inside also. Children below 8 was free from entry ticket but have to pay for rides. One thing I must say, rides are not cheap. So my recommendation will be The Vintage Car and Galley Ship. There are abundance of rides like Swing Carousel, Witch Carousel, Astronomer, Star rides to name a few.
Go to their website and you can get more details or buy ticket online.
Food – There are impressive lollipop, candy and sweet shops. Well stocked varieties of ice-cream. Traditional Danish sweets and snacks corners.
Once the night grows old, you will experience scary monsters in a Monsters Night Out-parade, Petzi who will perform for the children as well as the battle to find Denmark’s biggest pumpkin. There is Monsters Night Out popular event in Copenhagen, and the parade in Tivoli is filled with people in scary costumes. You might find yourself next to a ghost or a vampire sitting beside. We experience a fabulous dance performance by a skeleton beside the road.
Direction – Just get down on Central station / #Copenhagen central ( København H abbreviation of #Københavns Hovedbanegård ). You can catch buses like route 26 or 1s. Get down and you are bang opposite of Tivoli. You can see the Star Flyer or the Golden Tower ride of the park.
